Survivor Ideas exists for one reason: most emergency-preparedness content online is either doomsday-flavored or thin product-link filler. We wanted a site a parent or homeowner could actually use — practical checklists, sourced from FEMA, Ready.gov, CDC and NOAA, for the emergencies people actually face: hurricanes, power outages, winter storms, earthquakes and wildfires.
What we deliberately leave out: firearms and weapons content, collapse/SHTF ideology, and fear-based framing. What we keep in: tested, practical guidance and honest gear reviews, including when the cheap option is genuinely fine.
Survivor Ideas is an 8-year-old domain that is relaunching in 2026 under this new, narrower positioning. As part of that relaunch, older content from the site’s previous incarnation is planned to be removed from search indexing (not yet applied as of this page) — see our Disclosure page for how we handle affiliate relationships.
